Journalizing Your Workout

Strength Training

One thing I’ve started doing again is keeping a lifting journal. I picked up a small notebook from my local CVS and bring it with me every time I lift. My favorite thing about keeping a journal is, I know where I’m at with my weights and I can actually see myself improving. Seeing improvement can be a big motivator to hit the gym harder.

The Format
On the top of the page, I put the date and what I’m working out. Then I write down the workout, then weight and reps. For example:

DB Bicep Curls
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10

What benefits you see from journalizing your workouts?
