I often ask "why?" I never say "This is better" or "Could you not just do this?" and I never suggest that I know better, I'd just like to understand why we do something. I cant get along with doing it just because I'm told to. I'll never really understand the sport that way. Plus, surely an instructor should be able to justify every bit of technique? As far as the ick factor goes, if you can't remember the last time your uniform/mouthpiece was cleaned, it's definitely time to do it again. Yuck! Also (and there is no way to sugar coat this, so I'll just admit it) I have really big boobs. They get in the way while grappling, which I study as a supplement to taekwondo.
