MMA Training Mistake #2 – Feedback

MMA, Training

Most likely at your job you are encouraged or even required to give feedback to co-workers. Feedback allows you to realize any problems you have or lets you know what you’re doing well. Learning from your mistakes is something that makes you a better person in anything you do, in training, at work and in life.

I’ve been developing myself at the gym to take any and all feedback. Its is important that you use any feedback to better yourself as a mixed martial artist.

A big problem I used to have is not sincerely taking feedback from those who have been training less than I have. One thing I didn’t realize is: it doesn’t take much experience to see problems. So the next time you get feedback on anything, really think about the feedback on your drive home. Figure out how you can fix the problem but if it’s positive feedback think about how you can continue acting on the feedback.

Good insight. Feedback is so important in not only developing your own game, but in creating trust w/ your training partners. I admit I still get tweaked when a newbie tells me how to do things, but it’s really more tone of voice. If they aren’t so cocky when trying to give advice, I find it more helpful and easier to take.
