Wrapping your hands for Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA is essential, it protects all the small bones in your hand. Those who are new to MT or Boxing have a lot of trouble wrapping their hands. I’ve noticed some guys in my gym will just wrap their hands but not in a way they’re protecting their hands. Don’t be afraid to ask someone how to wrap your hand in a correct manner. There is not just one way to wrap you hands. Find the best one that suites you.

My Muay Thai instructor doesn’t run the wrap through his knuckles. Some do, some don’t. Personally I use the method shown in the video for Muay Thai and MMA. I’ve had no problems with their method. When I see my boxing (not Muay Thai)instructor, he wraps it differently than I do, both methods do the job.

Ringside also provides a picture tutorial for hand wrapping. Find out what way is comfortable or you.

Train safe.
