The boxing guard isn’t as effective in mixed martial arts because of the significantly smaller gloves, so why not slip punches? Here’s a great video I found that illustrates some head movement to create some opportunities for some hits. With the nature of Muay Thai, I feel that slipping and weaving aren’t used as much as western boxing. Though not used in Muay Thai, it seems like a valuable skill to possess in MMA.

wow, that’s an awesome video! gonna try to get that headmovement in.
a good exemple of a guy that truly masters the technique of slipping punches is randy. against his fight against tim his head movement was sick.

Ever since I took a couple months of traditional western boxing training, I’ve been able to incorporate head movement, weaving, and slipping punches to my stand up game. It’s really helped me avoid getting hit.
Thanks for checking out my site, feel free to post some youtube video links in the comments.

Give it a shot – incorporate it, I bet if you work on it, it’ll yield great improvements to your stand up whether it be in Muay Thai or MMA.
